چکیده
We have used the Faint Object Spectrograph on the Hubble Space Telescope to observe the spectra of SN 1987A over the wavelength range 2000 – 8000 Å on dates 1862 and 2210 days after the supernova outburst. Even these pre-COSTAR observations avoid much of the contamination from the bright stars nearby and provide a very useful set of line strengths and shapes for Based on observations with the NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope, obtained at the Space Telescope Science Institute, which is operated by AURA, inc., under NASA contract NAS 5-26555 Also Beijing Astronomical Observatory, Beijing 100080, P. Spectroscopy of SN 1987 A at 0 . 9 – 2 . 4 μ m : Days 1348 - 3158
We present near-infrared spectroscopic observations of SN 1987A covering the period 1358 to 3158 days post-explosion. This is the first time that IR spectra of a supernova have been obtained to such late epochs. The spectra comprise emission from both the ejecta and the bright, ring-shaped circumstellar medium (CSM). The most prominent CSM emission lines are recombination lines of H I and He I,...
متن کاملThe early spectral evolution of SN 2004dt
Aims. We study the optical spectroscopic properties of Type Ia Supernova (SN Ia) 2004dt, focusing our attention on the early epochs. Methods. Observation triggered soon after the SN 2004dt discovery allowed us to obtain a spectrophotometric coverage from day −10 to almost one year (∼353 days) after the B band maximum. Observations carried out on an almost daily basis allowed us a good sampling ...
متن کاملThe fading of SN 1997 D ⋆
We present a new set of spectroscopic and photometric data extending the observations of SN 1997D to over 400 days after the explosion. These observations confirm the peculiar properties of SN 1997D, such as the very low abundance of Co (0.002 M⊙) and the low expansion velocity of the ejecta (∼ 1000 km s ). We discuss the implications of these observations for the character of the progenitor an...
متن کاملThe normal Type Ia SN 2003hv out to very late phases
Aims. We study a thermonuclear supernova (SN), emphasizing very late phases. Methods. An extensive dataset for SN 2003hv that covers the flux evolution from maximum light to day +786 is presented. This includes 82 epochs of optical imaging, 24 epochs of near-infrared (NIR) imaging, and 10 epochs of optical spectroscopy. These data are combined with published nebular-phase IR spectra, and the ob...
متن کاملOptical and infrared observations of the Type IIP SN 2002 hh from day 3 to 397
We present optical and infrared (IR) observations of the type II SN 2002hh from 3 to 397 days after explosion. The optical spectroscopic (4–397 d) and photometric (3–278 d) data are complemented by spectroscopic (137–381 d) and photometric(137– 314 d) data acquired at IR wavelengths. This is the first time L-band spectra have ever been successfully obtained for asupernova at a distance beyond t...
